Im Austausch und in der Beratschlagung liegt großer Segen. Zusammen können wir Aufgaben stemmen, welche wir alleine auf die Beine zu stellen nicht im Stande sind. Gemeinsam können wir die schwere Segel eines kräftigen Schiffes setzen und den Herausforderungen einer langen Reise begegnen.

In wöchentlichen Treffen am Mittwoch erläutert der Jurist und Theologe Abdulselam Aslandur Abschnitte der Offenbarung. Für ein richtiges Verständnis des Koran muss eine ganzheitliche Betrachtung unter Berücksichtigung der Prophetengeschichte, der Offenbarungsanlässe und des historischen Kontextes erfolgen.
Hinzu kommt, dass der Referent durch sein Arabischstudium Einblicke in die sprachliche Vielschichtigkeit der Schrift geben und dem Zuhörer vermitteln kann, warum diese als Wunder verstanden werden muss.

Zum Verständnis unserer Gemeinschaft gehört, dass insbesondere die schulische und allgemeine Bildung zur “islamischen” Bildung gehören. Mithilfe des DMK Nachhilfeinstituts möchten wir erreichen, dass alle Kinder und insbesondere muslimische Kinder gute Bildungschancen bekommen und die Integration gut gelingt.
Der DMK bietet kompetente und motivierte Lehrer, die den Schülerinnen und Schülern als direkte Vorbilder dienen: Sie sind meist selbst als Migrantenkinder diesen Weg gegangen und sind auch deshalb hochmotiviert diese Kinder schulisch zu fördern, da sie in ihnen auch ihre eigenen Lebensläufe sehen. Gerade in Zeiten der Unkenntnis und Desinformation über den Islam wird eine Begegnung mit Muslimen auf Augenhöhe immer wichtiger. Wir leben den Glauben nicht nur in der Gemeinschaft, sondern haben auch ausgebildete Theologen unter uns, welche mit Fachkenntnis informieren.

Sonntags treffen wir uns 45 Minuten vor Sonnenaufgang in den Gemeinderäumen, um das gemeinsame Morgengebet zu verrichten. Im Anschluss kommen wir zusammen, um uns bei einem gemeinsamen Frühstück kennenzulernen und auszutauschen.

Im jährlich wechselnden Turnus organisieren wir Islamwochen und Islamforen. Diese bieten eine Plattform, mit eingeladenen Referenten und unseren Gästen aktuelle und wichtige Themen rund um den Islam zu beleuchten.
Dass die Islamwoche einen fruchtbaren Boden für regen Austausch und neue Ideen bietet, sehen wir bspw. am Garten der Religionen. Die Idee zum Garten entstand im Rahmen einer Islamwoche. Der DMK konnte auch deshalb von Beginn an bei der Ausgestaltung mitbestimmen. Seit mehr als 20 Jahren hält der DMK die deutschsprachige Freitagspredigt auf dem Gelände der Universität Karlsruhe. Genauso wie sich die deutsche Sprache durch das gesamte Angebot des DMK zieht, so ist sie auch bei der Freitagspredigt verbindendes Element der mehrsprachigen Besucher.
Frauen, Männer und Kinder kommen zu hunderten jeden Freitag zur Mittagszeit zum gemeinsamen Freitagsgebet und hören sich die Freitagspredigt an. Nach der geistigen Nahrung gehen einige der Besucher wieder ihrem Tagesgeschäft nach oder verabreden sich zu gemeinsamen Aktivitäten. In unserer Büchersammlung in den Gemeinderäumen finden sich Bücher zum Islam, den Muslimen und anderen Themen. Einige von ihnen können gekauft, andere nur ausgeliehen oder vor Ort als Präsenzexemplare betrachtet werden.
